Dubai: Indian concert-goers are in for a treat! With Diljit Dosanjh's electrifying Dil-Luminati tour wrapped up, excitement is now shifting to Coldplay's long-awaited India concerts, currently underway in Abu Dhabi.
Adding to the excitement, at their recent concert in Abu Dhabi, Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin gave a heartwarming nod to Dosanjh during the band's performance, leaving the crowd filled with excitement.
While on stage, Chris Martin spotted a fan holding a sign with Diljit's iconic phrase, "Punjabi aa gaye oye" (Punjabis have arrived). The singer read it aloud, delighting the audience.
Fans erupted in cheers as Martin’s flawless pronunciation struck a chord. Feeding off the crowd’s energy, he added, “We love you too,” amplifying the joy.
A video shared on Diljit Dosanjh's team’s Instagram Stories captured the moment, with the caption: “Chris Martin says PUNJABI AA GAYE OYE (heart eyes emoji)…..!!!! Chris Martin reading Coldplay fan posters and flags is so wholesome.”
The phrase became synonymous with Dosanjh's after his groundbreaking Coachella performance in 2023, where he made history as the first Indian artist to perform on the prestigious stage.
Meanwhile, Coldplay is gearing up for their Music of the Spheres tour in India. They’ll kick off with three concerts in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, followed by two shows in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26.
This marks the band’s return to India after eight years; their last performance was at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai in 2016.
As Diljit Dosanjh wraps up his memorable tour—which included stops in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and more—Coldplay's arrival signals the start of another thrilling chapter for music fans in India.
