Met Gala 2025: Diljit Dosanjh joins Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani at fashion’s biggest night

Gear up for Punjabi swag domination as Diljit Dosanjh gets ready to take over the 2025 Met Gala tonight. The star-studded fashion showcase will be streamed on YouTube, May 6th, Tuesday 2am.

In classic Diljit style, the singer-actor gave fans a hilariously relatable sneak peek into his upcoming Met Gala debut. Speaking in Punjabi in a self-shot video, the global superstar showed off his coveted invite — while joking about the fine print: “Only one guest? One plate? Invitation non-transferable?” His down-to-earth humour and subtle flex had fans cracking up.

Known for adding desi charm to international stages (remember his Coachella set?), Diljit’s run-up to the fashion world’s most exclusive night is anything but ordinary. He first teased the moment with an Instagram post that simply read “First Time” with an hourglass emoji.

Soon after, he dropped videos revealing the Met-branded goodies and sparkling beverage waiting in his hotel room, alongside the invite that strictly forbids photos.

Diljit also teased his followers by asking what he should wear, captioning his video with: “MET GALA Tomorrow. Daso Fer Ki Paiye Kal Nu. Halaa Laa Laa Karauni An.” Fans, naturally, lost it — with one summing up the mood: “Punjabi agye Met Gala oyee!”

While Diljit brings his swag to New York, he’s set to be seated among the who’s who of global pop culture — including Anna Wintour, Pharrell Williams, and A$AP Rocky.

The 2025 Met Gala, happening on May 5 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrates the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a tribute to Black culture’s impact on fashion. Diljit’s outfit is rumoured to be designed by Prabal Gurung — and knowing him, it’ll be anything but subtle.

Also walking the red carpet are Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan in Sabyasachi and Kiara Advani, glowing in a Gaurav Gupta couture piece.
