Monica Cruz
It's not hard to tell that Monica is Penelope Cruz's sister. They have the same luscious locks, sensuous lips and sultry eyes. So, it was no wonder that when a pregnant Penelope needed a body double for Pirates of the Caribbean 4, that Monica stood in for some shots. However, the Spanish actress and flamenco dancer can't hope for an A-list career in Hollywood like her super famous sister because, in her own words, "I don't speak English, so I can't foresee a career in Hollywood".
Angel McCord
There's no denying the resemblance between 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord and her sister Angel - they're gorgeous and also painfully thin. While AnnaLynne has shown spark for her work in Transporter 2 and Day of the Dead, her 23-year-old sister Angel hasn't done much in Hollywood besides look hot. Apparently she has a small part in The Sacred, a horror film that will be released later this year.
Doug Pitt
Seems like Brad didn’t hog all the handsome genes in the Pitt family, as it turns out his photojournalist brother Doug is pretty cute too. The only difference is that while Brad is one of the hottest actors in the world, Doug has chosen the simple life of a journo and was named a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania in 2010. He’s also the director of Africa 6000 International, which provides clean drinking water to people in Africa, so it looks like handsome and humanitarian genes definitely run in the family!
Lynda Lopez
Jennifer Lopez is another star with a sexy sister stashed away. Lynda Lopez has made a name for herself as an Emmy Award-winning TV journalist and radio presenter in the US, and was also briefly a VJ for VH-1. And despite her looks, Lynda never aspired to Hollywood, insisting, "You have to be crazy to want to be an actor. I want to be able to come out of a bar at 3am and not have to worry about who's there."
Dedee Pfeiffer
Dedee is Michelle's little sister, and like Michelle she's also an actress… just not as successful. When Michelle made waves wearing a tight, shiny black cat suit as Catwoman in Batman, Dedee posed naked for Playboy magazine. Before that she'd appeared in the 1987 romcom, The Allnighter, and took on minor roles in TV shows including Seinfeld, Friends and CSI. And after playing a psychotherapist in 2010's straight-to-DVD Flatline, we hear Dedee now wants to direct.
Daniel Depp
At first glance, the brothers look nothing alike. Johnny's a lusted after international icon, while Daniel's short, balding and has a bit of a belly. Although (by his own confession), Daniel was bitten by the movie bug long before his brother, destiny decided otherwise. The former Hollywood scriptwriter and producer-turned-author with his debut crime novel Loser's Town, which was well received by fans and critics, has four more mystery novels in the pipeline.
Hunter Johansson
Scarlett's twin brother Hunter, who was named by People magazine as one of their Single and Sexy Men of 2008, made an appearance in Scarlett's 1996 film, Manny & Lo, a foray into acting that seems to have put him off a career in Hollywood as he hasn't appeared in anything since. More recently he worked as a Presidential campaign organiser for Barack Obama. So, is he eyeing a move into politics?
Trace Cyrus
It's difficult to believe these two are half-siblings, as the musical connection aside, Miley and Trace look as different as chalk and cheese - as are their careers. While Miley is one of the richest teen stars in the world thanks to Hannah Montana, Trace is the former lead singer of rock band, Metro Station, and has tried everything he can to match his sister's fame, including putting together a new band in order to try to score his own reality TV show, and starting a clothing company called From Backseats to Bedrooms. This year he plans to team up with Miley on a new album.
Ali Lohan
Lindsay Lohan's kid sister Ali got started in showbiz as a Ford model at the tender age of three, and the 17-year-old has since starred on her family's reality TV show, Living Lohan, while making some uncredited appearances in her sister's films. She's also appeared in the movie Mostly Ghostly: Who Let the Ghosts Out? and released a Christmas album. Unlike her older sister, however, she's managed to stay out of trouble and out of jail.
Jill Stefani
It was Gwen's brother Eric, who introduced the singer to music as he was the keyboardist and main songwriter for No Doubt before Gwen took over as lead singer. And the flamboyant singer soon passed on the family favour, casting younger sister Jill in No Doubt's Just a Girl music video, as one of the girls checking their make-up in the ladies washroom. However, Gwen's shy younger sibling realised that showbiz is not her thing and now acts as her famous sister's assistant.
Bollywood family fame fail!
It’s not just in Hollywood – these Bollywood family members also fly under the radar...
Sohail Khan
Despite piggybacking on his more celebrated, box office-lucky big brother, Salman's fame, younger sibling Sohail failed to make an impression in B-town. Although he started out as a film-maker, he soon shifted loyalties, taking on acting parts in movies like Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. But when his flicks began to flop and film-makers refused to cast him, Sohail decided to start his own production house, which so far hasn't enjoyed much box office success.
Sanjay Kapoor
Although Anil Kapoor was a much sought-after star in the '80s and '90s, and continues to make an impact even today, mainly with his Hollywood connections, his younger brother Sanjay lucked out soon after he set foot in B-wood. Although his debut Raja, opposite Madhuri Dixit, was a hit (largely because of her clout than his), he was left with just bit roles. And now he's hoping to change things by turning into a film producer.
Shamita Shetty
It's not like the elder, more successful of the Shetty sisters (Shilpa) had it easy, but she beat the odds and emerged a winner in B-town. Now, with a super-rich husband (Raj Kundra), an IPL team of her own, and a spa and restaurant chain, Shilpa is clearly at the top of her game. But her kid sis, Shamita, despite a massive debut with the famed YashRaj banner in Mohabbatein, didn't manage to secure anything more than an item girl tag at the end of her dull acting career. Last we heard, she had vacated her B-town position for a course in interior design.
Tanisha
It'd be unfair to compare the career of power-house performer Kajol with that of her sis Tanisha, who inherited the arrogance (that's a prerequisite with star kids) but not the talent. Tanisha was unable to match her sister's B-town glory with a dull debut, Sssshhh..., which literally shushed her career. A few bit roles later, she still remains fairly unnoticed.
Amrita Arora
Marrying Salman Khan's brother Arbaaz aside, Malaika Arora made quite an impression with her striking fashion statements, killer figure and stunning dance moves, carving a niche for herself as a diva extraordinaire. But, despite basing herself on big sister Malaika, with no fashion quirks to call her own, zero acting or item girl skills, Amrita fizzled out almost immediately. Now, married (to businessman Shakeel Ladak), Amrita is busy playing mommy to baby boy Azaan.
Faizal Khan
While Aamir Khan is undoubtedly one of B-town's biggest stars, his brother, unfortunately, didn't boast of a spectacular career. After kick-starting with bit roles in Aamir's Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Faizal's disastrous lead acts in Madhosh and Mela, ensured he ended his acting career even before it could take off. After a nasty fallout with Aamir, Faizal has now accepted his failure.
