Happy Vishu wishes: Here's how Malayalam superstar Mohanlal of L2 Empuraan fame treated his fans

Dubai: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal took to social media on Sunday to wish his fans a Happy Vishu, marking the traditional New Year celebrated across Kerala and by Malayalis worldwide.

Sharing a festive post across his official platforms, the veteran actor wrote: “Wishing you all a very Happy Vishu!”—a simple yet heartfelt message that resonated with his millions of followers.

Vishu, observed on the first day of the Malayalam month of Medam, symbolises new beginnings, prosperity, and reflection. Families start the day with the Vishukkani—a ceremonial arrangement featuring items like rice, fruits, golden cucumber, and a lit lamp, meant to be the first sight upon waking. The festival is also marked by firecrackers, the sharing of traditional meals, and the giving of kaineettam (tokens of money) by elders.

As one of the most beloved stars in the Malayalam film industry, Mohanlal’s festive message was widely circulated and warmly received by fans, many of whom replied with their own Vishu wishes.
