Actress Vidya Balan says she isn’t aware of reports claiming that her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, was upset with her for supporting Kangana Ranaut in her legal battle with Hrithik Roshan.
“Since you are telling me, there must have been [an issue], because I’m not aware,” she told reporters at an event for her Marathi film Ekk Albela, a biopic about dancing star Bhagwan Dada.
At the trailer launch of her film Te3n earlier this month, Balan had said that she admired Ranaut as she was standing up for herself.
The Tanu Weds Manu actress is in a legal fight with Roshan related to their alleged romantic relationship.
Balan’s comments reportedly didn’t go down well with Kapur, the CEO of Disney India, as the company is producing Roshan’s 2017 film Kaabil. The reports also claimed that Kapur doesn’t like to get involved in controversies and Balan talking about the fight made him a part of one.
Meanwhile, Balan revealed a little factoid about her husband: “[Collecting movie posters is] his passion... He has 60-70 posters. We can’t put it up all at once, so we change them. But since we have got married, one poster that I haven’t changed is of Albela [which featured Dada].”
She also noted that Dada is supposed to have learnt dance from Kapur’s maternal grandfather, Sam Aaron. “He was a pioneer in bringing all the western forms of dance to India. I think I was just meant to do this [film]... there are things that are beyond you and this is definitely one of them,” she added.
