Bollywood actor Salman Khan arrived in Dubai late on Wednesday for the first edition of Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (Aiba).

Khan, who currently has a suspended five-year sentence for a 2002 hit-and-run case, was granted permission to travel overseas by the Bombay High Court earlier this week. He will be performing at the awards ceremony Friday night at Meydan in Dubai along with a star line up including Priyanka Chopra and Varun Dhawan. He will make a grand entrance at the venue on a hot air balloon.

Khan however is unlikely to be present at a press conference to be held this afternoon at Meydan, as he had arrived late at night and would be busy with rehearsals, organisers say. He was not offering any interviews either. “We were categorically told there will not be any,” organisers informed tabloid!.

Khan had confirmed his arrival in a video released earlier saying, “I’m going to be in Meydan Dubai on the 29th of May for the Arab Indo Bollywood Awards. See you there”. The video was filmed in Kashmir, where the actor recently spent a month filming his latest action film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
