UAE, Japan trade officials meet

DUBAI: Senior UAE and Japan trade officials met in Dubai to discuss further developing economic ties and trade cooperation.

Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade and Industry at the UAE’s Ministry of Economy, met Yasushi Akahishi, President of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).

Al Saleh praised Japan’s decision to exempt UAE nationals from entry visas, and reviewed several prospects fot manufacturing partnerships, particularly in petrochemicals and aluminium, and in renewable energy, logistics and other areas where both sides enjoy advantages.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with present advanced levels of economic and trade relations, and mutual keenness to ease investment in vital economic areas to service both nations’ development goals.
