Davos: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan walked out of a session in Davos on the Middle East after Israeli President ranted for 25 minutes claiming that Israel only wanted peace.

Part of what Peres said included the claims “There was no siege of Gaza. There was never a day of starvation in Gaza. All Hamas wanted was to bring in rockets from Iran.

Erdogan replied to Peres “I feel that you feel a bit guilty. You kill people. I remember people who died on beaches. I remember former prime ministers of Israel who were happy when they entered Palestine in tanks.

Earlier Erdogan had said “We saw the war in Gaza. More than 1,200 people were killed, More than 5000 were wounded. Think of the military power of Isreal. Can Gaza match this. It was a disproportionate response. Isreal rejected the UN resolution.
