TRA participates in Arab League Permanent Committee for ICT

Dubai: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) recently participated in the 32nd meeting of the Arab League’s Permanent Arab Committee for Information and Communication Technology, hosted in Doha, Qatar. The Committee focused on preparations ahead of key ITU meetings next year and the high level discussions that took place at the event will undoubtedly be critical to the region’s ICT sector.

TRA participates regularly in the meetings of this committee, for the importance of the work it does in crafting the policies and guidelines for some of the important ICT topics in the region. The discussions that take place at the Arab League Permanent Committee for ICT meetings are absolutely fundamental in the mission to safeguard the future of the ICT sector in the Arab world.

The meeting of the Permanent Committee addressed a whole host of ICT related topics. The outcome of the meetings of task forces affiliated to the Arab Committee were discussed as well as the progress of both the Arab work team for measurement and the Arab work group for operating to the activities of the Regional Arab Office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
