Dubai: The 10th edition of the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) Travel Award Gala Night will be held on May 7, in Dubai.

The award show, organised by hospitality consultancy, CHA International, will attract 1,200 participants, including hotels and tourism authorities, among others. It will have 18 categories, of which 11 are in the hotel sector.

The other categories include best rent-a-car, best spa, best dining experience and best golf club.

The winners will be chosen on the quality of their products and services based on customers’ experiences.

The winning tourism authorities, in particular, will be chosen based on the impact of their achievements in 2013 and their future projects in the tourism sector, and the increase in the number of tourists over the last year.

Tourism authorities from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah will be participating at the show.

The aim of the show is to “enhance service and product quality in the region,” said Sam Saker, president of CHA International.

The show has attracted 480,000 votes.
