Emirates Flight Catering Co has been honoured by Air France for its service delivery excellence, coming Runner-up in the Best Worldwide Caterer Awards.

The award was based on the criteria of quality, service, competitiveness and the working relationship between the airline and their flight caterer.

Emirates Flight Catering came a close second to the US-based caterer Flying Food out of the 41 companies worldwide which supply catering for Air France flights.

Faysal Moufarraj, Emirates Flight Catering's deputy general manager, airport catering services, accepted the award at a presentation ceremony in Paris.

"This is truly a great accolade, coming from an airline which is based in the birthplace of haute cuisine," Moufarraj said.

Emirates Flight Catering is committed to a "Customer Comes First" philosophy and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in catering services to all its clients, from international airlines, passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport, to corporate and private business partners, he indicated.

The airline was also named Best Foreign Airline by the Jakarta regional government at a recent event held in Indonesia.

Presented by the Governor of Jakarta province, the Adikarya Wisata award is considered to be the pinnacle of tourism awards locally.

It is presented to organisations and service providers that have shown significant achievement, dedication and contribution to the development of tourism in Jakarta.

John Rotikan, area manager for Indonesia, said: "Emirates is committed to the Indonesian market. We will continue to contribute to the tourism industry, by actively promoting business and leisure travel traffic between Jakarta and the many other destinations which our airline serves."
