Abu Dhabi: Residents have been reporting a disruption in their Blackberry Services due to a server trial of the Blackberry Software by the Canadian telecommunications company, RIM, experts said.

Blackberry Messenger and Internet browsing are some of the services affected by the trial to test a server upgrade throughout Asia, Africa and Europe, experts said. Problems with phone storage have also arisen where saved text messages and e-mails have reportedly gone missing.

An official at Etisalat told Gulf News that the local telecommunications company has technicians working on fixing any problems with the Etisalat network for Blackberry users until RIM has completed its work on the server.

The Blackberry 10 platform developer toolkit is available for download and is being launched in beta form in anticipation of the new Blackberry 10 devices.
