Dubai: Siemens has been commissioned to implement the Federal Electricity and Water Authority's (Fewa) systems for enterprise resource planning.

This comprehensive system will include customer relation management and billing by utilising technology from SAP, a leading provider of business software solutions for utility companies worldwide.

The contract will enhance the administrative performance at Fewa by upgrading their customer management, human resources management, financial, accounting and management of procurement systems as well as improving stores and record keeping.

SAP will work on the development of Fewa's website and will apply this system in the implementation of all procedures and services in electronic form.

Joachim Kundt, the CEO of Siemens, commented that securing this deal with Fewa further strengthens Siemens commitment towards improving the technological capabilities of the utilities sector in the UAE by providing world-class innovative solutions.

"For Siemens this is a highly strategic project and the company looks forward to fostering a long term strategic partnership with Fewa together with our partner SAP," Kundt said.
