Saudi Aramco names business development head

Vienna: Saudi Aramco has appointed Yasser Mufti as executive director of new business development, industry sources said.

Mufti, who was named last year as chief executive of trading arm Saudi Aramco Products Trading Co, used to lead mergers and acquisitions at Aramco.

His new post is effective from June 1, one of the sources said on condition of anonymity. Mufti served as Saudi Arabia’s Opec governor from March 2012 until December 2013. His other posts have included head of Aramco’s Accelerated Transformation Programme, which aimed to make the company into a more diversified energy firm.
