Samsung even has a book a 512GB handset for price of 256GB
Dubai: UAE pre-orders of Samsung’s super-slim S25 Galaxy Edge are open for booking until May 29.
The 256GB model is priced Dh4,299 and the 512GB variant from Dh4,799. As part of an pre-order promotion, shoppers who book the 512GB model between now and May 29 can get it for the price of the 256GB handset.
The Galaxy S25 Edge – with which Samsung is trying to prise open a new category of ultra-thin handsets – will include Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue. Pre-orders can be on Samsung.com, Samsung stores and through e& outlets.
“It’s sleek design and outstanding AI-powered features will particularly resonate with UAE consumers who demand both sophistication and performance in their digital lifestyle, reinforcing Samsung’s position as a leader in the premium smartphone segment,” said Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics.
While it's too early to talk about whether there is a ready-made market for super-thin smartphones, Samsung wants to be in the vanguard for that. It's in keeping with what the South Korean technology company did with the Fold and Flip models.
Some analysts are convinced that a sub-market can be created for such thin handsets. "If iPads could transform into iPad Air versions, then what it says is that probably a market does exist for lighter or thinner gadgets," said an analyst. "Samsung has set course in finding out whether such a market is there for thin handsets.
"We will soon know how it works out - but Samsung did well to anchor the Edge within its flagship S25 Galaxy Series. That's a smart move."
