Dubai: Developer Nakheel has signed a deal with Landmark Group to operate some of its retail brands at Nakheel’s Al Khail Avenue shopping, dining and leisure destination at Jumeirah Village, according to statement on Sunday.

Landmark will introduce over 25 fashion, electronics, homeware, food and beverage and entertainment brands including Home Centre, Centrepoint, Emax, New Look, Reiss, Fun City, Shoexpress, SportsOne and Candelite. Landmark’s outlets will occupy over 220,000 square feet at the mall.

“Al Khail Avenue will be a new destination for Dubai’s tourists and residents, and a convenient, on-the-doorstep shopping and leisure hub for people living at Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Park and other nearby areas,” said Omar Khoory, Director of Nakheel Retail, in the statement.

With 1.2 million square feet of retail space, Al Khail Avenue will have 350 shops, and a diverse range of cafés and restaurants.

Construction of Al Khail Avenue will begin this year, with an expected opening in 2018.

Last month, Nakheel confirmed that Al Khail Avenue will feature a 14-screen movie complex from Reel Cinemas. British supermarket chain, Waitrose, will also be featured.
