Dubai: Jollibee, the Philippines’ largest fast food chain, plans to expand within the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) in the coming years. By the end of 2016, the restaurant chain plans to open six additional branches in the country with Mall of the Emirates and BurJuman Centre as the next areas of expansion. By 2020, the franchise is looking forward to open 100 restaurants all across the GCC region.

The restaurant has both short and long term plans of growth within the region after a positive reception of the opening of their 1000th store in Dubai mall.

“Our 1000th Jollibee store opening at The Dubai Mall was the most successful store opening in the world.” Jollibee’s Vice-President for International Markets, Dennis M. Flores said in a statement.

“Jollibee means a great deal to many people in the Philippines, its expansion here is addressing an extremely underserved market.” stated Hisham Al Gurg, franchisee of Jollibee in the UAE. As part of the expansion, the fast food chain aims to cater to all palates including locals and expats.
