Dubai Land Department requires QR codes for each property specific advertising
Dubai: Got something wrong with a property listing? The Dubai Land Department can take care of that with the help of some AI features.
Out of 279,000 real estate related ad listings issued in Dubai between October last and now, 29% of these were ‘automatically modified’ with AI, according to the DLD’s AI-enabled Real Estate Advertising Governance Platform. (This was launched at Gitex last year.)
“The Real Estate Advertising Governance Platform enables us to monitor advertisements more accurately and efficiently, enhancing investor and consumer confidence and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for real estate innovation,” said Ali Abdullah Al Ali, Director of Real Estate Control Department at RERA.
The Dubai real estate authorities have been particular about transparency in listings of local properties. Recent measures include limiting the number of brokers advertising a particular property and the need to take down a transacted property as soon as the deal is done.
Also, RERA had launched the ‘Madmoun’ electronic service within its ‘Trakheesi’ system, which issues a QR code for every property advertising permit generated through the platform.
All real estate companies are thus ‘required to display the QR code’ on all their ads, whether visual or written.
“This enables customers to quickly and effectively verify the authenticity of the advertisement and confirm that the RERA approves it,” said the statement.
