Showroom aims to cater to rising demand in the housing industry
Dubai Danube Building Materials — one of the largest suppliers of building materials in the region — opened a Dh20 million showroom in Fujairah this week, following a Dh10 million showroom in Dubai Festival City recently.
The expansion is part of a Dh200 million expansion, to support the massive housing supplies coming into the region.
Buildmart, the 35,000-square foot retail complex in Fujairah, was launched under the patronage of Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah.
Shaikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi was present at the inauguration ceremony, along with Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Building Materials, and other senior company officials.
Aims
With aims to address the building material needs of interior designers, consultants and homeowners, the fifth branch of Danube's unique retail complex concept in the UAE follows the success of its inaugural branch in Ras Al Khaimah, which was launched in February 2009.
Located in the main shopping street in Fujairah (between Pan Emirates and Homes ‘R' Us), the retail complex is a first-of-its-kind facility in the emirate that offers over 15,000 products within 24 sections.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Abdullah said: "The opening of Buildmart signifies Fujairah's business-friendly atmosphere and vibrant retail industry. Danube has the keen foresight to identify the potential in investing within the emirate, and we are confident that this venture will be rewarded with thriving success in the years to come. We are anticipating this initiative to create a domino effect of growth across Fujairah's retail, construction and property development industry."
Buildmart offers a personalised retail store experience with service, design assistance, and inspiration to help people redecorate their homes. At present, there are five retail outlets under the Buildmart banner, which are located in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and expansion plans involving the launch of a flagship branch on Shaikh Zayed Road are also in the pipeline.
Steady demand
Rizwan Sajan said, "We continue to build up our presence in the UAE, amidst the continuous construction activities being undertaken in this market. In the face of a steady demand, we are confident that this expansion of Buildmart will gain significant success that matches — if not overtakes — that of the inaugural branch. Moreover, this move underlines our commitment to the UAE market, as we plan and roll out various expansion strategies within the country."
