ABU DHABI: The National Media Council (NMC) and executives from Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), a private joint stock company fully owned by Mubadala, an investment arm of the Government of Abu Dhabi, Wednesday discussed cooperation and coordination on satellite communications to serve governmental departments as well as individuals and businesses.

The meeting discussed WAM’s possible use of Yahsat’s television and radio broadcasting capabilities in the UAE and abroad.

Since being incorporated in 2007, Yahsat have designed the region’s first multi-purpose satellite system, based on extensive interaction with customers and research into their communication needs.

The CEO of Yahsat said cooperation with NMC will give the company an important advantage to serve the national media to introduce the UAE’s achievements to the world.

Yahsat, he added, will harness its efforts to achieve the common goals it has with NMC.
