Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council, on Tuesday issued two resolutions restructuring the ZonesCorp Higher Corporation for Specified Economic Zones and Abu Dhabi Council for Econ-omic Development board of directors.

Shaikh Mohammad's resolutions were issued based on a proposal by Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

Shaikh Mohammad issued resolution No 40 of 2010 restructuring the board of directors of Abu Dhabi Council for Econ-omic Development.

The Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development board of directors will be chaired by the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department.

The board's members include representatives from the public sector, private sector and Business councils.

The members include Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Municipality and the Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development as representatives from the public sector.

Private sector

The resolution also stipulated that the private sector would be represented by Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi, Abdullah Mohammad Al Mazroui, Faraj Bin Hamouda Al Daheri, Ahmad Saeed Al Badi, and Nasser Jasem Al Nowais.

While representatives of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Thani Murshid Al Rumaithi, Khalfan Saaed Juma Al Ka'abi, Fatima Obaid Al Jaber, Khalid Abdullah Al Bu Ainain, Rashid Saif Al Suwaidi and representatives of the Business Council Sameh Al Masri, Saleh Al Muqattesh and John Lawrence Habib.

Shaikh Mohammad also issued resolution No 41 of 2010 reshuffling the board of directors of the Higher Corporation for Specialised Economic Zones (ZonesCorp).

The new board will be chaired by the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department, while the head of the Municipal Affairs Department will be the deputy chairman.

Board membership includes the head of the Department of Transport, chairman of the board of the Abu Dhabi Airports Company, the Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department, board chairman of the Abu Dhabi Ports Company, Deputy Chief Executive of Adnoc, Director General of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council and representative of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority.

The decisions highlighted the agenda of general policies of Abu Dhabi's vision for 2030 and the restructuring of the boards whose terms expired.

The decisions also reflected the focus of some vital authorities such as ADIA, following the appointment of Shaikh Hamed as Managing Director last April.

Shaikh Mohammad thanked Shaikh Hamed and the former board members for their efforts.

He added that the setting up of the new boards was vital to the development and building process in the emirate under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
