Multiplex opens in Al Wahda mall

Abu Dhabi: Situated right in the heart of the capital, the much-awaited multiplex adds a new flavour to the cinema scene in Abu Dhabi. The state-of-the-art Al Wahda Cinema brings to the audience a greater choice of films from Hollywood, Arabic, Bollywood and the regional Indian movie industry.

Launched under the patronage of Shaikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Wahda Club, Al Wahda Cinema’s opening was attended by M.M. Kabeer, managing director, Oscar Cinemas, and other dignitaries.

A nine-screen multiplex with 1,500 seats, Al Wahda Cinema offers customers enhanced features such as a 10,000 sq ft lobby, a multi-cuisine food court and multiple seating options — premium, VIP and value-oriented. The cinema offers luxury and exclusivity in the form of pearl suites that come with recliner push-back seats, touch-button call board systems and gourmet meals.

The technological advancement comes in the form of high-resolution 4K digital projection systems, digital 3D content, Dolby sound and fully digital cinema screens.

“I am absolutely delighted at the opening of Al Wahda Cinema in this mall. I loved coming to Al Wahda Mall, but being a movie buff, I always wished there was a cinema around. With the new cinema, I will be hanging around here more often with my friends to catch the latest Arabic, Hollywood and Bollywood movies. I just love action movies, especially the Bond series,” said Amr Khatab, a 22-year-old business graduate.
