Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the setting up of a new body to develop and protect economic environment in the emirate.
Following a visit to the Dubai Department of Economic Development, Shaikh Mohammad instructed the Dubai Executive Council to take the necessary measures to implement the order.
The newly established body, called the Joint Commercial Control and Protection Establishment will be tasked with developing and protecting the business environment in compliance with rules in the emirate.
The agency will protect individuals and companies from illegal commercial practices through providing advanced solutions that guarantee a safe business environment.
The strategic goal of the establishment is to become the sole economic regulatory and protection body and will assume full responsibility for regulating and protecting local commercial activities in all sectors.
Its goals also include spreading awareness among individuals and companies about their rights and obligations within the business environment, and improving the work atmosphere in line with regulations in the emirate.
The establishment also aims to provide human resources and training solutions to keep employees abreast with the latest developments in the field of commitment to commercial systems and consumer protection.
