Abu Dhabi: As the UAE’s main equity indices jumped over one per cent each, other markets in the GCC were quieter, with Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul index crawling down 0.01 per cent to 6,499.88.

The market ended with 109 symbols down, compared to 56 stocks up in the last trade session before the market closes for a week on the occasion of the Eid Al Fitr holiday.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Stock Exchange index fell 0.19 per cent to 5,364.57, as Qatar’s QE index rose 0.08 per cent to 9,885.22. Bahrain’s benchmark index was also almost flat, up 0.02 per cent to 1,118.37.
