New Porsche-Shell partnership to install 130+ EV chargers across Oman by end-2026
Dubai: Porsche Centre Oman and Shell Oman have signed a landmark agreement to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the Sultanate, with plans to install over 130 chargers by the end of 2026.
The collaboration will see the installation of at least eight high-performance DC charging stations co-branded by Porsche and Shell, located primarily at Shell service stations. In addition, 125 AC Porsche Destination Chargers will be set up at key locations across the country, offering convenient top-up options for EV users.
Porsche EV customers in Oman will benefit from a two-year subscription to use the fast-charging network starting June 2025. This includes up to 2,250 kilowatt-hours of charging at Porsche-branded DC sites at no cost. Customers can continue to use the service at preferential rates thereafter. Meanwhile, access to all AC Porsche Destination Chargers will remain free for Porsche owners.
“This partnership with Shell Oman marks a significant step in our drive towards a more sustainable future,” said Samir Abdul Rasool Qassim Al Zadjali, CEO of Porsche Centre Oman. “We are proud to support Oman’s electromobility goals by creating a high-performance charging ecosystem that meets the needs of modern drivers.”
Shell Oman echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration in supporting the country’s green transition. “This is a milestone in delivering reliable and scalable EV charging solutions across Oman,” said Burair Al Lawati, General Manager – Strategy & Energy Transition at Shell Oman.
Some of the new chargers are already up and running. Both companies confirmed that further joint efforts will include public awareness campaigns and digital tools to encourage EV adoption in Oman.
The initiative aligns with Oman’s long-term sustainability goals and is expected to play a key role in fostering cleaner transport alternatives while offering Porsche customers greater convenience and peace of mind.
This partnership between Porsche and Shell represents a major investment in Oman’s EV infrastructure and showcases how automakers and energy providers can work together to create a practical and forward-looking mobility network.
