Ooredoo Tamweel sets aside $18.99m for sukuk holders

Company to make periodic payments starting June 5 and has issued a $1.25b bond at 3.039% for 2018

Dubai: Ooredoo said its unit Ooredoo Tamweel (OTL), will pay holders of its sukuk periodic payments, with the first one of $18.99 million (Dh69.75 million) being paid out on June 5.

The company had issued guaranteed notes in the form of a $1.25 billion bond at 3.039 per cent for 2018.

“Terms defined in this notice shall have the meaning given to them in the Terms and Conditions of the Notes and the Final Terms,” the company said in a statement.

The parent company, which is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Qatar stock exchange, served 138 million customers and generated revenues of 33 billion Qatari riyals (Dh33.21 billion) as of December 2016.
