DFM-listed Taaleem will have another Harrow school in Dubai
Dubai: Taaleem has finalised the land deal that would see it build the first Harrow International school in Abu Dhabi. Harrow along with Eton are the UK's legacy private schools and it was last year that Taaleem confirmed the UAE will be hosting two Harrow schools in the UAE.
The DFM-listed Taaleem has signed a 'musataha' land lease agreement with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge to launch the new 'super-premium school' in the emirate.
There will also be a Harrow Boarding School in Dubai from Taaleem, subject to KHDA approval. The UAE ones joins a network that includes Harrow School in London, the associated John Lyon School (also in London), and locations in Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Taaleem will have a prime 70,369 square meter plot on Saadiyat Island for the Harrow project. The deal 'emphasizes Taaleem's commitment to addressing the rising demand for top-tier educational institutions in the region'.
"Harrow International School Abu Dhabi will feature state-of-the-art facilities designed to provide an outstanding educational experience," said a statement.
"The school will join the prestigious Harrow family, offering a British-style curriculum deeply rooted in a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and leadership development.
"The campus, designed by the renowned KODA architects, will include purpose-built classrooms, sports and arts facilities, and leadership programs that embody Harrow’s core values."
The space for super-premium K-12 education is clearly there, with GEMS last month confirming plans to develop what would be Dubai's 'most expensive school'.
The Taaleem portfolio also includes the premium Dubai British Schools.
