Dubai Taxi and Dubai Airports seal 5-year deal to drive Dh2.5B in revenues
Dubai: Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has secured an exclusive five-year agreement with Dubai Airports, positioning itself as the sole taxi service provider at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) as the emirate braces for a surge in passenger traffic.
The deal comes as Dubai Taxi projects annual taxi and limousine trips from its terminals to surpass 8 million by 2029, with expected revenue contributions of Dh2.5 billion over the contract period. In 2024, Dubai’s airports handled 93 million passengers, generating over 6 million taxi and limousine trips, the company shared in a DFM filing.
Mansoor Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, signed the agreement with senior officials. Alfalasi said, “As the exclusive provider of taxi services at Dubai’s airports for more than two decades, we are committed to showcasing Dubai at its best to all passengers.”
Alfalasi said, “With a team of well-trained drivers backed by sophisticated technology, DTC is committed to enhancing its operational capacity to align with the rapid growth and development at Dubai Airports, ensuring the continued delivery of world-class transportation services.”
DTC began servicing Dubai Airports in 1997 with a fleet of 100 taxis and has since expanded considerably. Today, the company operates an airport fleet of approximately 900 taxis, including 700 dedicated airport cabs, specialised pink taxis for families and women, and accessible vehicles for People of Determination. Its premium fleet includes around 500 limousines catering to high-end travellers.
At present, the flag charge from the airport is Dh25, with an additional Dh1.97 per kilometre.
The taxi and limousine services at Dubai Airports are equipped with smart dispatch systems and advanced instant booking technologies accessible through mobile applications. These systems allow passengers to easily and quickly book taxis and provide cashless payment options.
The vehicles are monitored by DTC’s control centre, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transportation for all customers. In 2024, DTC also doubled its dedicated taxi fleet at Dubai Airports.
“This expansion aimed to support airport transportation services and boost trip numbers by 30 per cent, helping reduce waiting times and improve service speed while reducing the reliance on having to divert our regular city fleet towards the airport,” said Alfalasi.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said, “Our goal at Dubai Airports is to create an effortless and seamless experience for every guest, from the moment they arrive at our airports to the moment they depart. This partnership with Dubai Taxi Company ensures that passengers at DXB and DWC experience world-class mobility solutions from the road to the air, reflecting the speed, convenience, and service excellence we uphold across the airport journey.
