Depa acquires leading regional marble company Carrara

Dubai: Depa, an interior contracting company, said on Sunday it has wholly acquired Carrara Mid East Industrial Co. LLC, one of the region's first producers of quality marble.

Carrara operations include three facilities located in the UAE, which serve the Middle East, India, and Africa. It posted a revenue of Dh150 million in 2009.

Hadi Al Solh, Depa's Managing Director of Investments, said the acquisition "is another important step in our longstanding integration strategy".

He said that Depa is also looking to continue Carrara's international expansion drive to serve clients in Saudi Arabia, India, Azerbaijan and Nigeria.
