China's exports to the United States fell 17.6 percent month-on-month in April, official data showed Friday, as Beijing navigates a high-stakes trade war with Washington.

Shipments to the United States totalled $33.0 billion last month, falling from $40.1 billion in March, according to data published by China's General Administration of Customs.
