Abu Dhabi: Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini has unveiled its latest car, the Veneno Roadster, at a ceremony held on board a ship currently docked in Abu Dhabi.

With 750 horsepower and 12-cylinder engine, the car goes from 0–100km/h in 2.9 seconds, and reaches a maximum speed of 350km/h.

The car, which is entirely made of carbon fibre, carries a price tag of 3.3 million euros (Dh16.5m) excluding taxes, making it the most expensive sportscar in the world.

The Veneno Roadster is a collector’s item as Lamborghini has manufactured only nine to be sold worldwide.

“What makes the car so special are the horsepower, and for sure the design, which is the first thing you will see and it still [has] the Lamborghini feeling but more extreme. Even if you can say that a lot of Lamborghinis get inspiration from motorsports, this car is a step ahead,” said Christian Mastro, General Manager in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
