Abu Dhabi: Gianni, Origoni, Grippo and Partners, a leading international law firm headquartered in Rome with offices in Italy, Brussels, London and New York, officially announced the opening of a branch in Abu Dhabi, the first in the Middle East.

Francesco Gianni, founder of the firm, told Gulf News that three Italian advocates have moved into the office which aims to assist Italian companies that require support for their operations in the GCC and other Middle East countries.

"The Abu Dhabi office represents a further stop towards our firm's internationalisation process and will serve as a hub for the European clientele in the region," said Gianni.

Resilience

"The UAE is the gateway into the region for people coming from Europe and abroad.

"It has also shown astounding resilience to worldwide economic turmoil," Gianni said.

"This has made Abu Dhabi and the UAE an apt choice in our strategic plans to penetrate the Mena market and to establish strong ties that will allow us to expand further into the region," he said.

Services will include mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, oil and gas, private equity, arbitration, infrastructure, corporate governance and corporate finance.

The firm was established in 1988 with three lawyers and now has more than 350.
