Dubai: The latest iPhones will be available from etisalat-managed retail counters and select business centres from Sunday, with the base iPhone 5S from Dh2,749 and iPhone 5C at Dh2,349 and above. The global launch by Apple Inc was on September 10.
Customers can get the devices free on contracts where the monthly rentals start from Dh199. At half the normal monthly rental, postpaid subscribers can sign up for a 10GB contract-free data capacity plan at Dh225 per month. The prepaid Wasel subscribers will have on call 1GB free data for the first three months and a monthly rental of Dh99 thereafter.
A trade-in option allows existing etisalat subscribers to hand in their old iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S handsets for discounted rates of Dh600 to Dh1,150 for the new ones. Money-back is available on the purchase of a new handset if they trade in their old phones later.
“Enabling immediate access to the latest technology and advanced products to our subscribers in the UAE is part of our customer-driven business strategy,” said Khalid Al Khouly, chief marketing officer.
Besides a free SIM card replacement for the new handsets, subsrcibers can choose and shift between local and international bonus minutes on their package. The unused minutes on the monthly bundle can be rolled over to the following month.
