Abu Dhabi: Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) launched on Friday the first helicopter air-taxi services in Abu Dhabi to cater for corporate needs and the emirate's tourism sector.

"The company is ideally based in the Bateen Airport, a military facility 10 km from the city centre, allowing for civil use, and there is a possibility that it will convert into a civil airport in the future," commented Salem Al Kayoumi, FAS' chairman.

The company is targeting corporate transport, as well as tourists, and has reached an agreement with several locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to allow for landing, such as Burj Al Arab Hotel and Dubai Creek as well as Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
