The implementation of an environment, health and safety (EHS) policy is today a vital element of business success, according to Hussain Sultan, group chief executive and board member of Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc).
Addressing the First Enoc Regional EHS Conference in Dubai, Sultan said EHS policies and procedures are crucial to business structures.
"EHS is no longer just an element of social responsibility," he said. "It is a vital part of any organisation, vital for employee welfare and for the smooth and efficient operations of any business for the avoidance of human and financial losses."
Some 240 delegates from around the region attended the conference.
"The aim of the conference is to bring together clients, authorities, business partners, industry experts and consultants in a networking forum to exchange views in a free and transparent manner," explained Sultan.
