Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has been awarded a major EPC contract for RS-12 Well platform project at offshore Mumbai High Field by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), an Indian government undertaking.

The contract value is approximately $162 million. This will make a total contract value awarded to NPCC Dh1.6 billion from ONGC since October.

The scope of work consists of survey, design and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning as applicable of: one number RS-12 Well Platform, several segments of subsea pipelines and composite subsea cable.

Under the contractual programme, the overall project completion is scheduled for April 30, 2011.

Aqeel Madhi, chief executive of NPCC, said that in October, NPCC signed a contract with ONGC for the construction of B-22- 3 Wellhead Platforms with pipeline and modification works. The contract value is approximately Dh1 billion and the project is to be completed by April 2011.

NPCC has successfully executed several mega EPC projects for ONGC in the past, the recent being the 4 Wellhead Platforms Project-2, completed in April 2007, and C-Series Wellhead Platforms Project completed in April 2009.
