Dubai: The Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park, DuBiotech, and Energy and Environment Park, EnPark — both Dubai-based free zone business communities dedicated to the life sciences and alternative energy industries — have been recently represented at the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) platform by Marwan Abdulaziz, Executive Director.

The delegation, which included members from Dubai Exports, communicated how the growing Indian pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors can benefit from the UAE’s free zone structure and tap into the flourishing GCC market using the UAE as its central hub.

The Indian pharmaceuticals market is the third-largest in terms of volume and thirteenth-largest in terms of value. The industry is further estimated to grow at 20 per cent compound annual growth rate over the next five years to $85 billion (Dh312 billion) by 2020.
