To achieve the economic visions set out by the leaders of the UAE, it is critical that the UAE becomes a ‘Mark of quality’ when exporting globally. Dubai Central Laboratory has been positioned to drive this initiative and is independently testing materials, products and systems that aspire to be selected in projects both regionally and internationally.

Collaboration with the region’s major manufacturers is critical to this process, with Knauf being signalled out as a major supporter and partner of this vision. Engr. Amin Ahmed Amin Director, Dubai Central Laboratory Department invited the senior Knauf team members within specification and R&D to join him and his colleagues at Dubai Central Laboratory headquarters to discuss Knauf’s recent success, as well as other ways manufacturers and authorities could work closer together in the future.

Knauf has a deep history of collaborating with Dubai authorities, being recognised by Dubai Civil Defence as well as working with Dubai Municipality and the Emirates Green Building Council on sustainable materials.

Knauf Managing Director for the Middle East and India, Amer Bin Ahmed says, “The importance of making the UAE an export hub to the surrounding regions is the responsibility of every manufacturer, I am just doing my bit.

"We are driving the Made in UAE movement, which has become a Mark of Quality, a brand signalling that the highest performance and reliability is guaranteed when manufactured locally. At this moment I am full of gratitude towards Dubai Central Laboratory and Dubai Municipality for appreciating the efforts put in by Knauf UAE and its family globally towards this initiative”

Dubai Central Laboratory was established in 1997 to bring together the various labs affiliated by Dubai Municipality. It is a leading government department, recognised for its organisational transparency and technical structure. It is a key part of Dubai’s goal as a global economic capital and allows trust and confidence for both business and individuals when purchasing.
