Dubai: Spectators watched on in awe as the five minute musical fireworks display was launched across Dubai Creek, the longest display of fireworks in the history of DSF.
The fireworks were synchronized with the emotive theme song of DSF; Dubai Danat ul Dunia, Dubai the Pearl of the World.
“We are very proud of maintaining an amazing record of success. We started our first edition with around 1 million visitors who spent 2.5 billion dirhams, while the 2011 DSF attracted around 4 million visitors who spent more than 15 billion dirhams. What a glorious journey. A journey that has positioned Dubai as a leading shopping hub in the region, and branded DSF as one of the best shopping experiences in the world,” said Laila Suhail, CEO of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment at the event.
Festive goers gathered around the newly opened Dubai Promenade at Dubai Festival City to enjoy the launch of the Dubai Shopping Festival. The backdrop was a festive atmosphere with street entertainers and musicians.
From Friday onwards, promotions and sales will be available at the participating retail outlets
