Dubai: The Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) has opened its newest branch at the Mirdif City Centre. The new branch, inaugurated by the Deputy CEO of SIB, Ahmed Saad, is part of the bank’s strategy to extend it services to a larger section of customers, while also expanding its reach across the region.

Nabil Abou Alwan, Head of Retail Banking Group, SIB attended the opening ceremony along with Majed Shaaban, Director of the Branches Network, SIB, the corporate communications team, and leading representatives of the bank.

Catering to Islamic Banking requirements

Speaking about SIB's services, Ahmed Saad said, “Sharjah Islamic Bank is committed to its goal of expanding its presence and bringing its services closer to its customers, by providing them with fast, efficient and reliable banking services, around the clock. With the opening of our newest branch in Mirdif City Center, besides access to all our services, we also seek to address every customer’s Islamic banking requirements, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.”

He added, "Despite the increasing demand for electronic distribution channels and digital applications, we continue to witness requests for services provided through our branch network. This branch seeks to holistically approach customer concerns and opens just days after the launch of our other branch in Mall of the Emirates.”

Implementing expansion plans

Head of SIB Retail Banking, Nabil Abou Alwan said, “The opening of this branch, aligns with SIB’s expansion goals of reaching out to more customers, with branches across convenient locations. 24/7 services for customers and merchants

The newest branch of Sharjah Islamic Bank will operate six days a week, Saturday to Thursday, from 9am to 10pm. Customers and merchants can avail of digital services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through a range of electronic and smart channels and devices.

Mirdif City Center, provides a unique shopping experience to its customers and is strategically located between Dubai and Sharjah. The branch has been opened to serve the banking needs of customers located around this specific area.

Health and safety

The bank has undertaken several precautionary health and safety measures, including installation of a thermal detection system for employees and customers, along with a self-sterilisation device in the main branch of the bank. All measures have been undertaken to align with the directives issued by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA). Sharjah Islamic Bank has been supporting the nation’s efforts to contain the Coronavirus under the slogan "Committed to you, homeland” and aligns with the UAE’s vision 2021, aimed at achieving a technologically advanced knowledge economy based on innovation, along with the bank’s strategy to keep pace with the latest global digital banking technologies.
