The 2nd edition of Security Conclave & Awards 2022 in association with Cyber Security Council, UAE concluded on a grand note at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, on 15th September. The event with 250 security decision-makers from the UAE region focused on the challenges and problems that today's CISOs are experiencing and how to build a cybersecurity program for the present and future workforce.

The opening keynote was delivered by H.E Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security Council, UAE. presented how a Cybersecurity threat like a Ransomware attack can harm big enterprise data but collaborative efforts by the enterprise helped them to overcome the issue. He also mentioned the 5 Pillars of Cybersecurity which helps any organization overcome threat first is Governing policies, strategies, and Standards. 2nd is Building people, technologies, and capabilities, 3rd is protecting & Defend, 4th is Innovating & 5th is collaborating.

The second keynote was delivered by Ellis Wang, CIO (Board of the Executive & Advisory Team) The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum who delivered a presentation on the topic - 'CyberSecurity in Metaverse.'

The third Keynote was presented by Mohammed Al Moneer, Regional Director, META Region, Infoblox. He delivered a presentation on the topic “Optimise your threat intelligence landscape. He shared a prediction for the next 20 years and how people will build strategies for the future

The fourth Keynote was delivered by Venkatesh Mahadevan CIO of Dubai Investment PJSC. He delivered a presentation on the topic “Information Security & Board - A Perspective where he talked about 3 important things for the board i.e Reputation, Business Continuity & Risk.

The final keynote was presented by Amit Roy, General Manager Cybersecurity META at Atos. He put forward the industry's most concerned subject - '3Ps (Prevent, Protect & Preserve) towards Cloud Security. He discussed various ways to tackle cyber threats & how an enterprise can preserve their data.

The event also witnessed four engaging panel discussions. 'The CISO Angle for upcoming cyber challenges. was moderated by Anoop Kumar Information Security Manager Gulf news the panelists who shared their thoughts were Aloysius Cheang, CSO of Huwaei, Ammar Halabi, Country Manager MENA of SUSE, Imran Shaikh, CTO of Virgin Mobile & Sarfaraz Ahmed CIO/CISO of ENGIE. Where they all discussed the challenges CISOs face in today's era the risk & fix.

An exciting topic - 'Cyber Security Challenges in Cloud' followed in the second panel, which shed light on digital transformation, and the newest challenges in businesses. This panel was moderated by Lt. Col. Dr. Hamad Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Head of Telecommunication Division, IT Centre at Abu Dhabi Police. Panelists were Mohammed Abutheraa, Customer engineer security of Google Cloud, Taha Hussain Information Security Specialist of a Public Utility Company, Padam Sunder Kafle, Head of IT & Automation of Aster Hospitals UAE & Bilal Lodhia Information Security Manager of Gargash Group.

The third panel - 'Mitigating Cyber Risk Across Banking Sector', covered primary topics like Cyber trends & Best Practices, Innovative tools & technologies, and Digitalization as an Opportunity. Moderated by Padam Sunder Kafle, Head of IT & Automation of Aster Hospitals, UAE. The panelists were Hussain AlKhalsan, CISO of Zand, Rizwan Arain, CISO of Habib Bank AG Zurich & Zaheer Mubarak Shaikh, CISO of Al Maryah Community Bank.

The final panel - 'Mitigating overall Risk of Highly Sophisticated Modern Threats in Digital Era' debated the attack & trends in emerging technologies. Moderated by Aliasgar Bohari, Senior Director of Information Technology at Zulekha Hospitals, panelists were Tamer Hamed, CIO of DUCAB, Faraaz Shaikh, Head of IT & Clinical Application of Cleveland Clinic, Ahmad Alabbadi, Regional Sales Manager- Gulf, Pakistan & Levant of Infoblox, Ankit Satsangi, CTO & Co-Founder of AHAD.
