Saudi German Hospitals Group in the UAE announced the implementation of the tele-intensive care unit (TEL_ICU) system for intensive and critical care patients in its hospitals based in the UAE. A remote ICU allows off-site physicians to interact with medical staff directly, supervising patients in dispersed ICUs to consult on patient care and share experiences.

The system allows all specialist doctors working in Saudi German Hospital branches to exchange medical expertise as one team with an advanced medical system that applies latest findings in modern medical technology in healthcare.

The system works with audio and video technologies and real-time data flow for patient information, where the doctor working from the care center in Dubai can quickly care for the patient in Ajman or Sharjah, at any time. This intensive communication allows immediate intervention and continuous provision of necessary care required which is greatly reflected on patients and their safety.

Dr. Reem Othman, Regional CEO of the Saudi German Hospitals Group, said that the introduction of the (TEL_ICU) system in the branches of Saudi German Hospital provides a complete accuracy during the intensive care for critically ill patients and in-patients at the hospital.

Dr. Reem Othman stated, “The group has introduced tele-medicine systems to hospital services, allowing doctors to manage medical and critical cases in a better, faster and safer way for patients.”

She also specified that the world is currently moving towards the application of remote care and medical systems with modern technology. The experience of the COVID-19 pandemic that the world has experienced established a lesson that confirms the importance of medical technology and its effective role in helping to apply medical standards with high efficiency. We aim to give patients an access to all medical expertise in an accurate, fast and effective manner.
