Baku recently hosted the CEO Meet Up Dubai panel discussion on the topic, Dubai model of development of the real estate market. Organised by Caspian Energy Club, Caspian Energy UAE with the support of Unique Zone Real Estate, a partner of Emaar, the event also saw the participation of MyGroup.
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Muhammad Murad Al Balushi, and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBİA), Rufat Atakishiyev as guests of honour. The event was also attended by representatives of 90 companies from the private sector.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Caspian Energy Club, Telman Aliyev welcomed the guests, thanked them for their participation before handing over the floor to the Chairman of the Board of Caspian Energy UAE, Emil Iskenderov.
During his speech, Iskenderov informed participants that the Caspian Energy Club plans to hold such events on a monthly basis, both in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and in the UAE. As Iskenderov noted, these meetings are designed to stimulate the development of bilateral relations between the private sector of the two countries, deepen dialogue and expand successes on the path of bilateral cooperation. He also stated that Caspian Energy UAE is ready to continue helping Azerbaijani entrepreneurs who want to enter the UAE market, and intends to invite such large companies as Emaar Property and Unique Zone Real Estate for cooperation.
Speaking about the activities of Emaar Property, Iskenderov emphasised that Emaar was one of the largest construction companies in the UAE and author of such grandiose and large-scale projects as the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, King Abdullah Economic City, etc.
The speakers of the panel discussion of the event were Bhaskara Santosh Punuru, Sales Leader of EMAAR Property; Ankush Midha, CEO of Unique Zone Real Estate; Fuad Karimov, Chief Executive Officer of Pasha Property Management LLC, and Samir, Member of the Board of Directors of North West Construction LLC Qasimov.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Al Balushi noted that the UAE and Azerbaijan have built bilateral relations on a solid foundation, and added that he was pleased to witness the successful development of economic relations between the two countries.
“Thanks to the firm will of our leaders, private entrepreneurs and investors in both countries have the opportunity to benefit from these relations. We are proud of the achievements in the field of bilateral relations, such as the opening of the Baku office of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Trade Representative of Azerbaijan and the Trade House of Azerbaijan in the UAE, as well as the increase in the volume of bilateral trade.
"Both the UAE and Azerbaijan have great potential in various sectors of the economy, including opportunities in the digital economy, advanced technologies and artificial intelligence,” said the Ambassador.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the impact of Covid-19 on the real estate sector, the readiness of the Azerbaijani market for the Green Conception, what experience from the Dubai model could be adopted by the Azerbaijani real estate market and other issues.
Speaking at the meeting, Atakishiyev said that such discussions open up an excellent opportunity for the participants to establish a dialogue. “Today, thanks to the professional activity of the Caspian Energy Club in organizing such important meetings, we can find out what Emaar Property can offer our entrepreneurs and what are the expectations of our entrepreneurs in this direction,” said Atakishiyev.
He also added that in recent years, multiple visits to the UAE have been organised, during which meetings were held with representatives of state structures of the country, and in February of this year, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Following the discussions, Murad Al Balushi and Atakishiyev were awarded the certificate of honorary member of the Caspian Energy Club. Certificates of gratitude for cooperation and participation in discussions were also presented to other participants of the event.
The Caspian Energy Club, which unites over 5,000 companies and organisations from 50 countries of the world, was established in June 2002. The main goal of the Caspian Energy Club, which is an active participant in the business-to-government dialogue, is to improve the investment and business environment in Azerbaijan and other countries where the Caspian Energy Club operates, as well as to stimulate dialogue in B2G, B2B and B2C formats and in active participation in them.
