Security Conclave 2021 and Awards, the most anticipated cybersecurity event, concluded on a grand note at the Address Sky View, Dubai, on 25th August. The hybrid event with 250 security decision-makers from the Middle East and Africa region focused on the challenges and problems that today's CISOs are experiencing and how to build a cybersecurity program for the present and future workforce. The virtual session, powered by Webex allowed the audience to engage with sponsors and speakers as well as visit networking lounges.

The opening keynote address by Sultan AlOwais, Director of Smart Services and Digital Infrastructure Department, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, presented an excellent topic - 'The Economics of Cyber and the Future of Technology'.

The second keynote followed this by Omar Ma'ayah, Technical Solutions Architect-Security at Cisco, who made a presentation virtually through Webex on the topic - 'Zero Trust – To Trust or Not.'

The final keynote presented by Mohammed Al Moneer, Regional Director, META Region, Infoblox put forward the industry's most concerned subject - 'Cloud Security and Automation.'

The event also witnessed four engaging panel discussions. 'The Startups Platform' was moderated by Dr. Mohammad Khaled, Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation Expert, Digital Barza. The panelists included Eran Stiassny, CEO, Cyberm8, Ahmed Abdella, CRO, Spidersilk, Zainab AlSheheimi, CEO, Etteqa for Cybersecurity and Mohamed Amine Belarbi, CEO, Project Cypher.

'Women in Cybersecurity' followed as the second panel, which was discussed by Loubna Imenchal, Head Enterprise Business AMECA, Logitech, Asma Al Yassi, Cybersecurity Governance, Hessa Al Nahdi, CISO, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Jasmita Malik, Assistant Manager- Information Security, Landmark Group and Amna Al Balushi, CISO, Nizwa Bank Oman.

The third panel - 'Cybersecurity vs Digitalisation' was moderated by Anoop Kumar, Information Security Manager, Gulf News. The panel included Ali Sleiman, Regional Technical Director – the Middle East and Africa, Infoblox, Hussein Shafik, CISRO, Standard Chartered, Sarfaraz Ahmed, CISO, ENGIE and Patrick Ramseyer, Director of Operations, Central Europe and MENA, Get Visibility.

The final panel - 'Cyberattacks- The Risk and the Fix' was moderated by Hani Bani Amer, Head of Cybersecurity, National Critical Infrastructure of Dubai, the panel was discussed by Dr Lt. Col. Hamad Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Head, Telecommunications Division, IT Centre, Abu Dhabi Police, Sameer Shah, Solution Architect Manager, Emircom, Rizwan Arain, Group CISO, Habib Bank AG Zurich, Amit Roy, Head of Cybersecurity, MEA Atos and Sultan AlOwais, Director of Smart Services and Digital Infrastructure Department, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

The outstanding event also honored the top cybersecurity champions from the region for their noteworthy innovations.
