UAE facility a priority for Rolls-Royce

Derby: Keeping its eye focused on garnering the biggest share of the aviation industry's after-sales servicing business, Rolls-Royce is pursuing hard to clear the obstacles in forming its proposed joint venture with Abu Dhabi's Mubadala, for which a memorandum of understanding was signed in 2005.

"The Middle East market is very important to us and a UAE facility will help us increase our share of the region's market considerably. We are holding talks with Mubadala and hope to reach an agreement soon," Mick Forey, Rolls-Royce's senior vice-president (Middle East, Civil Large Engines), said on Monday.

"We have already sold 500 engines in 20 countries and enjoy a 40 per cent share of the market. The Middle East market hopefully will give us more business," said Forey.
