Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, highlighted the UAE’s focus on strategic partnerships as a core element of its efforts to support global development and shape a more sustainable future.

Sheikh Mohammed's remarks came during a meeting with Stephanie Pope, Executive Vice President of The Boeing Company and President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, held on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Sheikh Mohammed said Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for aviation innovation, supported by long-standing collaborations with major manufacturers and technology developers. He described the UAE’s partnership with Boeing as a model of effective cooperation within the aviation industry.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Boeing’s participation in the 19th edition of the Dubai Airshow and noted the opportunities to deepen collaboration in aviation, innovation and sustainability. He also acknowledged the new agreement between Emirates and Boeing for 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft valued at $38 billion, a purchase that lifts Emirates’ total Boeing wide-body orders to 315.

Long-standing partnership

Sheikh Mohammed underscored Dubai’s commitment to advancing excellence and adopting cutting-edge technologies to reinforce the emirate’s global aviation leadership.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group. Both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation and future plans.

Stephanie Pope said Boeing values its long-standing partnership with the UAE and Emirates Airline and highlighted the airshow as a key platform to present the company’s commercial, defence and services portfolio.

Discussions addressed future drivers of aviation, including artificial intelligence, sustainable aviation technologies, electric and hybrid aircraft, and solutions to reduce environmental impact such as smart fuel management and advanced navigation systems. Cooperation in training, aviation technology and research and development was also explored.

Boeing operates in more than 150 countries and employs over 170,000 people across the United States and 65 other nations.
