Dubai: As weather conditions improve somewhat in the US, most of major Gulf carriers expect to resume most of their operations from Thursday.

“Due to improvement of weather conditions in the eastern part of the US Emirates flights EK201 and EK202 to and from New York on November 1 will resume as per the schedule. Emirates flights EK203 and EK204 remain cancelled, Emirates said in a statement on its website, adding that the airline will continue to monitor the situation closely.

A travel alert on Etihad Airways’ website stated that a resumption of the carrier’s daily return service to and from New York — on Wednesday — was expected, “pending airport infrastructure repairs and the re-opening of JFK airport”. The carrier, however, didn’t outline flight plans for Thursday.

Qatar Airways, too, said in a statement that all of its US flights, both to and from the US, had resumed for Wednesday. “On Wednesday October 31, all Qatar Airways flights to/from Washington, DC (IAD) & New York (JFK) will operate as scheduled,” the carrier’s travel alert noted on its website.
