Dubai: Dubai’s flagship carrier – Emirates – has issued a fresh travel advisory ahead of the upcoming Eid holiday peak. The airline has urged passengers to check in early and ensure they have all relevant documents ready for check‑in to avoid delays. The airline expects more than 80,000 daily passengers to travel abroad for spring break holidays.

Dubai International (DXB) – Emirates’ home base - is bracing for a holiday surge unlike any other, with more than 3.6 million travellers expected to pass through its terminals during the travel peak from March 26 to April 7. The busiest day of the period is forecast for Saturday, April 5, when 309,000 passengers are expected. Emirates expects many passenger departures from Dubai from March 27 until April 6.

Here are a few things passengers must keep in mind:

Passengers starting their journey in Dubai have been advised to arrive early at the airport and to use the Dubai Metro to get there where possible.

Travellers can download the Emirates app on their mobile. A digital boarding pass will be issued when passengers check in on the app or online via emirates.com.

Check‑in counters will be open 24 hours before the flight from Dubai, and passengers can check in for flights and drop luggage 24 hours before departure.

For passengers travelling to the US, check‑in counters will open 12 hours before the flight, allowing them to check in and drop off their bags early.

Passengers are also advised to use Emirates’ City check‑in and travel store in ICD Brookfield Place, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) from 24 hours up to 4 hours before their flight (except for customers travelling to the US).

If passengers are departing from the northern Emirates, they can also check in at Ajman Central Bus Terminal between 24 and 4 hours before their flight.
