Dubai: Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai’s second international airport, welcomed on Wednesday its first scheduled A380 passenger flight — Korean Air’s flight KE9951 from Incheon International Airport in South Korea.

The flight was the first in a series of scheduled charter flights the airline will operate to DWC in addition to their existing scheduled operations at Dubai International airport. The charter operations serve seasonal demand for Dubai cruise operators.

In 2016, 850,633 passengers used DWC, with the airport currently served by 27 passenger carriers.
