Dubai: Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC) will be able to handle 26 million passengers by 2018, Dubai Airports Chief Executive, Paul Griffiths, announced on Tuesday. 

DWC, which opened to passenger traffic in October 2013, can currently accommodate five million passengers a year. 

Last year, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, endorsed the $32 billion expansion of DWC to lift capacity to 120 million.
